I knew a little girl when I grew up – her name was Gemma and she was as cute as a button. Dark hair, an infectious laugh and just a truly kind person. I recently found out she not only lives close by, but is now a mother herself! We had a chat on the phone and it was like no time had passed at all. She was exactly how I remember with one little difference – she was now a new mum to her own baby girl.

I had the pleasure of photograhing beautiful baby Sophie with her doting parents in their bright and airy south Brisbane home. Most Brisbane newborn photography sessions take place during the first week or two after your baby is born. For Gemma it was all about chubby-cheeked smiles and images that burst with her baby’s cute and bubbly personality. Here’s just a little snippet from their in-home family session at their beautiful home in Brisbane’s south. How cute are all the decorations? Cudos to Gemma’s mother, Grandfather and friends as most were lovingly hand made.

Baby Eva | Brisbane Newborn Photography

This sweet couple and their much loved fur-baby welcomed their newborn baby girl Eva into the world. We spent a beautiful warm sunny morning together capturing alllll the love in their beautiful south Brisbane home. One of the things I love so much about in home sessions is that it’s such a safe and comfortable environment. The whole family can join in with the session (yes special pets are always ALWAYS welcome)! Your home, your things and you can relax and really get cozy with your loved ones. Yes – their home looks like a showroom. No – we didn’t sneak into the local furniture design boutique. This really is their home and their impeccable eye for colour and design. Note Andy the dog’s bow tie – so dapper!

Our session was totally relaxed and quiet. They all snuggled up while I captured their moments and beautiful baby Eva slept through most of it – bliss! Life changes so much and so quickly during a time like this that we tend to forget the sweet moments as they take place. These sessions bring up all the memories of life when my boys were tiny. I was exhausted (always) but each day brought a new discovery and a joy. I always wish I had the energy to take more photographs while they were small and treasure the moments I have captured.

Brown Family | Brisbane Family Photography

Oh I can’t believe it’s almost spring – already. Wintery blooms are oh-so-pretty and there’s nothing quite like spring in sunny Brisbane. Inner city parks are a plenty in Brisbane. I frequent most for family photography sessions as they’re so easily accessible. The lovely Brown family ventured out in their perfectly coordinated outfits ready for an afternoon frolic. Flowers, architecture, soft grassy gardens – it was all there. Mumma sang a beautiful song to little ‘Bas and the three snuggled for some wonderfully love filled photographs. How seriously cute is this little family of three?

I’d like to stop for a moment to say a huge thank you to all the wonderful families I have had the pleasure of meeting and photographing so far this year. I can’t believe what an amazing year it has been and it’s all thanks to you. I am so grateful to you for choosing me to capture your moments and inviting me into your homes in Brisbane and beyond. Capturing your memories brings me so much joy and I’m thankful that I can give you back these treasured images for you to revisit forever. Sleepy newborn babies in their cots or in the loving arms of family, chubby-cheeked 6 month olds finding their feet and giving their biggest smiles and the ever-growing toddlers and children that I revisit each year to document their growth and all the ages in-between.

The Ivison family | Brisbane Family Photography

Some time ago I met up with the lovely Ivison family at their favourite local bayside location. It’s also a favourite spot of mine to photograph families from all over Brisbane. The sky was bright and fairly clear with a few clouds rolling in. To say this family is close-knit is an understatement. The kids were the best of friends and their love for each other was so clear. Cute blonde babies with the biggest heart-melting smiles. I loved their styling and those cute little boots!

My sessions are always relaxed with minimal posing. My goal is to capture a gorgeous range of images for you and your family that truly reflects your love and affection for each other. I gently guide your family throughout your session so you’re all comfortable and relaxed and can really be present and in the moment.

Baby Margot | Brisbane Newborn Photography

A Brisbane newborn photography session like no other. These guys make becoming new parents look like a piece of cake. They were in their own kind of a blissful newborn bubble – overflowing with love for their perfect and delicate baby girl. Their sweet fur babies were curiously observing their new human – their kitty cat was a tad more shy than their loveable dog who was (in my opinion) the star of the show! We had such a sweet morning capturing their true love, inside and outside their south Brisbane home. Snuggles on a picnic blanket with a new bubba makes my heart sing. Fluffy grass and a knitted blanket always makes for beautiful and comfortable setting full of colour. Sunny the Spitz was always by baby Margot’s side, ready to dive in for the next photo – front and centre! (Can I keep him?)!!! Seriously though – isn’t he just the perfect model! Pets are always welcome to join in the fun with newborn and family photography sessions alike. I have had the likes of dogs, cats, chickens and horses all feature with their humans. Got a pet you love? Let’s organise a session to capture the WHOLE family.

Brisbane newborn sessions can be captured right in client’s homes or at a pretty outdoor location. Whichever takes your fancy – the session will be focused on love, genuine connected moments with your family. Pets are always welcome to join in the fun as well. Mid mornings are the most popular time for in-home newborn sessions, however later afternoons are soft and beautiful too.
